March 10:— West of the Meuse the French are making progress, and they arc now holding nearly all the wood of Corbeaus, which the Germans recently attacked. East of the Meuse, the Germans made several attacks on the front from Douaumont to Vaux. At both of these villages the enemy's furious assaults were broken. The German attack against the French trenches at the foot of the slopes commanding Fort Vaux were in massed formation, and were thrown back with heavy losses. A German wireless message claims that the Germans captured both the village and fort of Vaux. In Upper Alsace, the French captured enemy trenches close to Largucs, east of Scppois.
