SYDNEY HOTEL HOURS.
PUBLICANS HIT BACK AND STTPPORT WET CANTEENS. (Received 9.6 ajn.) SYDNEY, this day. ■ At .a big meeting of hotelkeepers a resolution was passed affirming the de : sirability of establishing wet canteens in training camps. The meeting decided to place on the "black list" various business firms in Sydney who had signed the requisition in favour of closing the hotels at six p.m. During the debate at the Political Labour League, on the motion of Mr Meagher, censuring the Commonwealth Defence Minister for issuing the proclamation curtailing the hours of hotels, Mr W. A. Holman (Premier of New South Wales) denounced the publication of such information as was contained in the motion, and said he intended to introduce a new Press Law, which would be framed to prevent the publication of such news before it became public property. Mr Meagher eventually modified his motion to expressing'regret that a mis* understanding had arisen between the State and the Federal authorities.
