ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS.
CONSOLIDATION OF FUNDS. The important question of the consolidation of sick and funeral funds of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows has now 'been finally settled. A great deal of interest has'been taken in-the proposal, and, it will be remembered, the most wealthy lodge in the district—the Fountain of Friendship—seceded as a result of a dispute on the "matter. The delegates of the Auckland province have now passed a motion which affirms the proposal. The motion carried is as follows: — ' " '
"The sick arid funeral funds of all the lodges in the Auckland district shall be consolidated, as 'from Ist January, 1916. Lodges which on an actuarial valuation are shown to possess assets amounting to their, total sick and funeral fund liability, shall pay .to the consolidated fund an amount equal to such liability. Lodges which have assets exceeding their total sick and funeral fund liability may allocate such excess of sick and funeral fund capital in additional benefite to their members.in accordance with General Rule 43. Lodges which on an actuarial valuation arc shown to possess sick and funeral fund assets amounting to less than their sick and funeral fund liability, shall deposit the whole of their sick and funeral fund capital in the consolidated fund. The investment of the consolidated fund shall be made in accordance ■with the Friendly Societies'. Act. Wio Provincial District of Auckland, as the District Management Committee shall decide. Each lodge shall retain such sum for current payments as the District Management Committee shall from time to time decide."
