g Dr. Basil Adams (tuberculosis medical officer) asked to be allowed to make ;- a statement on a matter of urgency at h a meeting the Wellington Hospital Board on Friday. During the last ten days, he reported, there has been a great rush of advanced cases of consumption. Two of these were cases of persons who •were stranded without resources, and one . or two were cases of haemorrhage requiring careful and constant attention. Ward I. 7 was absolutely full, and he had put j , more patients on ward 6 balcony, two on ward 4 verandah, and there were two r more patients to come yi in a few days. ■ c They were not the type of cases for a ' sanatorium, and if sent to Otaki they -j would only upset the treatment of the ■" patients already there.
