SAILORS' HOME.
t : SiISSICXS HALL $E-OPENED. £ An event of special interest to seamen took place last evening, when the Auekj land Sailore' Home Mission Hall was rej opened in- Albert Street. It will be remembered that the hall was damaged by fire some months agOj and the renovations which were thus made necessary have just teen completed. There were a number of representa- ■> tives of the various religious organisations present, also Mr A. E. Glover, M.P, The president, Mr H. Symons, presided, and in fitting terms spoke of the good work being done in the Home and by the two missions which used the 'hall. He j pointed out that during the past four _ years, the finances of the Home had gone back to , the extent of between £600 and ' £7t)O, though it was to t>e remembered g that this money had gone to benefit the , sailors who pass through the port. *■ j , A musical programme of several £ pleasing items, and refreshments, closed ■ a successful evening.
