PENNANT MATCH PROGRESSING SECTION" PLAY ALMOST ENDED. | LEADERS AT REMLTSRA TO-MORROW. . SURMAN SO FAR UNBEATEN. I The Christmas tournament of the I Auckland Bowling Centre was continued lon six grounds to-day in pleasant wea- , I ther and on improving' greens. Only ! two rounds now remain to complete the section play, and to-morrow the leading teams in the various sections will meet • at Remuera to qualify for places in the semi-final. The draw for inter-sectional j play will be arranged at a meeting of ' the committee to-night. It is expected that the final will be played on New i i'ear's Day. With only two rounds to go the sectional play reveals 6ome interesting positions. Surman (Mount Eden), in section .i, is up to the present unbeaten, having scored seven wins. Dr Hardie Neil (Auckland) approaches him with six wins. In section B, George (Onehunga) registers six. Section C shows Jenkin (Rocky Nook) and V. Casey (Ponsonby) with six each. Wakerley (Rocky Nook) leads the way in section F with six. In section D a trio have five each—McLeod (Ponsonby), Mclntyre (Devonport) and I Darby (West End).
