An official message states:—"The New Zealanders and Sikhs successfully engaged the Senussi on the western frontier of Egypt, on Christmas Day, with but few casualties.

An official message received this morning states that a British force from Matruh located the Senussi a little to the westward of Jebelmedwa, where a New Zealand battalion and the Sikhs immediately attacked with complete success. The enemy were driven westward towards Wademyid. Our casualties Were slight.
