DEVONPORT CONVALESCENT HOME. MAYOR'S EQUIPMENT FUND. The fund now being rained by the Mayor of Devonport in connection with the equipment of Mr. A. U. I). Watson's house, North Head, as a Convalescent Home for Hick and wounded soldiers, has reached a total of £334 10/3. Thin! amount is exclusive of the proceeds from the "Cafe Cbantant" organised by Mre. fioyian's Number 3 Area Committee, of the Dovonport Women's War Relief As sociation. and held last Wednesday evening, which is expected to produce about; £100. and is also exclusive of the pro-1 coeds from the disposal of the section I of land presented by Captain Duder .and ottier articles given by various residents. BIRKENDEAD PATRIOTIC LEAGUE. The recent social held by the Birkenhend Ladie*' Patriotic League realised £•20 8/8, and it was decided to forward a contribution for the purchase of fifty leather waistcoats for soldiers. Mrs. J. P. McPhail Wμ elected president of the I.cagur, and Mrs. S. Mills secretary. THE HOSPITAL SHIP. EQUIPMENT MATERIAL. Arrangements for the supply of equipment material for the eceond Nevr Zealand hospital ship have now been completed. The Mayor of Auckland (Mr. J. H. Gnnson) waited upon the Women's Patriotic Association this morning, as tho result of which the ladies unanimously agreed to become responsible for the equipment. The secretary of the League will in due course announce the articles and quantities that will be required. Already full quantities of tome of the articles are in hand, and the Mayor expresses confidence that, in view of the ready responee previously ex perienced, there will he no difficulty whatever in assembling the goode.
