OUR TROOPS IN EGYPT.
- I (To the Editor.) Sir, —In a recent issue you pub- | lish a letter from F. J. O'Neill complain- I ing of non-delivery of parcels and letters I Ito men in F-gypt. There may be some j excuse for failing to locate wounded men ' lin various hospitals, but noDe for keep- j ing back parcels and letters to men ; camped at Zeitun for months. There is ' another matter which requires explana- j I tion. Why. did not the New Zealand | Uovcmmcnt make arrangements to pay, their wounded? I quote from a letter' 1 from Zeitun camp dated May ."> 1 : "I may state I am on the rocks as regards money. ! I lent and spent money with I. when he was here, as he had none when arriv- j ing here wounded, and left camp for the front being owed five weeks' pay." "The | Australians were paid." We were assured i by the ikivernment tiiat the wounded were receiving their pay. I trust this matter has been rectified by this time.— I am. etc.. NOT A SPARTAN MOTHER.
