DOUBLE SHIFT AT FACTORY. MEN RESENT DELAY (Received 0.55 ajn.) SYDNEY, this day. Senator Gardiner (Vice-President of the Federal Executive Council) Eaid that though difficulties had been encountered in the establishment oi a double shift at the small arms factory, it would be started in a few weeks. At a meeting of Labour men at Lithgow the speakers strongly resented the delay. ;md decided to notify Mr. Pearce (federal Defence Minister) that the Amalgamated Society of Engineers was willing to supply all t!ie skilled hands required within a fortnight.
