Cheese. —Tbe marke! is quiet, and prices have declined further. Colonial and T'nlted States cheese about the beginning of the week declined sharply, but the market closed firmer, and the price of Nctv Zealand advanced 1/ to 2/ since the day before yesterday. Cansdian is quiet. White, 02/ to 01/; coloured, 00/« to 02/. New Zealand: Demand improved. White. 02/ to 04/: coloured, 00/ to 08/. Culted States: Fair demand. ■White. 00,' to 02': coloured, SS/ to 90/. according to quality and size.

Hemp.—The market is stendy. Mit the demand is only moderate. New Zealand. good crane £!!2 10/, fair £30 10/; fair current Manila. £!S 10/: forward shipment of N.Z. fair £31 13/. fair to good £20 10/: Mimiln. £3S. The output from Manila for the week was 24,000 'bales. It la Impossible to forecast prospects for hemp. )mt flntlclnntp little change in values for some time.

Wheal— During the last week the market has been inactive, but Is now somewhat steadier. Canadian April-June shipmeut. .">l/ per quarter: Americas July-August, 44'; Argentine, not Quoted.

Oats.—The market is qnlet, and only small business is liciiig done. Argentine June-July shipment. 20/ per quarter.

Hops.—Tlie market Is firmer, at Increasing demand for better grades. English, 00' to 118/ j Cnllfornian, 7."/ to 10r>/.

■Wool.—The market 1s strong, and tho price of fine wools lias advanced sharply.
