FORCED BACK NORTH OF LEMBERG. ATTACKS IN FRZEMTSL AREA FAIL. VFTROGRAD. June 17, The enemy's strength along the River San. in Galicia. is enormous. Jhe Russian troops in the Popeliany district, in the Baltic region, have crossed the Yonta. the cavalry sabring hundreds of fleeing Germans. Fighting in the Sbavli continues with van ing fortune. Some of the villages have fallen into the enemy's hands. The enemy, iv fruitlessly attempting the offensive beyond the middle of the Nicinen. further south, sustained heavy losses The Russians recaptured all their advanced trenches northward of Prasnvsz. in North Roland. The bat lie of the San continues with increasing fierceness. The fighting along the Tistenica and Rystrittvi, southern tributaries of the Dneister, has continued to the .Russian advantage. The Russians captured, southward of Widaitheff, another 000 Germans. i:u hiding 14 officers, and also four guns aud 6ix machine guns.
