GALLANT TURKISH ATTACK ON BRITISH DIVISION FAILS. DUBLIN FUSILIERS TAKE A TRENCH WITH THE BAYONET. CReceived 12.50 pjn.) LONDON. June 17. The Government Official Tress Bureau reports that on Tuesday night a party of the enemy. led by a German officer, gallantly attacked the trenches held by a British Brigade at the Dardanelles. The few who reached the parapet of the trench tvere killed, but the majority fell bciore reaching the trenches. Fifty were killed, including the leader. Stronc bombing parties nl-o led an attack on trenches we had captured on Saturday night, and forced n= back 3D yards till daybreak. Our machineguns then eafil-aded the evacuated trench, and the Dublin Fusiliers attacked with tiie bayonet. They teoccupied the trench, in which 200 dead Turks were found. Our casualties were slight.
