DAMAGES AGATNFT MOTORIST. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent! THAMES, this day. As t.he outcome of a collision between a motor cycle ridden by !•'. Bennington and v cart driven by Joe Allen, and containing two occupants, on the evening of October 32nd hist, an action for damages was heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day. The plaintiff was the mother of a. hoy named IMartin. who was thrown out of the cart and severely injured internally, necessitating a-lengthy hospital sojourn. .She claimed £ 150, and £ 145 and costs wore allowed. Mr. Clendon appeared for plaintiif, and Mr. Deiahiore for defendant, it was alleged that Bennington was looking Tound when he collided with t.he cart; whidi lia/1 a light. Tho defence urjied that it was an inevitable accident, a stone having caused the motor to swerve and crash into the cart. Damages -were awarded as stated on the ground that Bennington was driving too rapidly.
