SIR JOSEPH WARD.
ENTHUSIASM IX NELSON. (Bj Telegraph.—Owa Correspondent. , MOTUEKA, Wednesday. Sir Joseph Ward and party were invited to vieit the Golden Bay cemept works this morning, which they did, and they afterwards left TaJtaka per motor for Oollingwood, and eiter luncheon Sir Joseph addressed a large gathering in the hall. Great errth-neiasm was shown throughout, cheers being given for Sir Joeeph and hie party, and the following resolution was carried unanimously, "That thie meeting of Colltngwood residents records a hearty vote of thanks to Sir Joseph Ward for his instructive addTese, and wishee to eonvev to him its continued support for the Liberal party, which he bo ably leade." The resolution was proposed by •Mr. B. BTadehaw, and eoeomied by Mr. Fisher. Mr. Frank Staflard occupied the chaiT. At 3 pjn. Sir Joseph left for Motueka, and the townspeople gathered round his motor and cheered Sir Joseph and the LibcTal .party. At Takaka. on the return journey, about forty la-dies entertained Lady Ward and Mre. McKenrie at tea. Proceeding to Motueka, Sir J»i<>ph addressed the l.xTgcet meeting of electors ever held in the township. Sir Joseph received ft moet cardial and eifthusiaetic hearing , throughout. He dealt fully with the lda-ddng political <juestk>n« of the day, ! nnd was -frequently applauded. At the close of his speech lie was accorded a vote of the -warmest, thanke and confidence In the Liberal party and in himceli a* leader, . .._
