The Rev. H. Mason recently undertook to find water for the Mangere Road Board, which _> considering a scheme for supplying the district. In a report to the Board, Mr Mason mentions that, as he has already proved, there is an immer_se deposit of water in most of tlie cratere _bout Auckland. On Mangere Mountain he marked a spot within ihe crater where a quantity of upwards of half a million gallons petday may be obtained, possibly at a ! depth of not more than 50ft., and this he recommended as the best supply ' available.
