Fogwell for the rowing championship of Now Zealand, through Mr Coombes, of the "Referee." The challenge lias been accepted, and the match arranged and articles signed. Hannon sails by the Maheno to-morrow week to make all the necessary arrangements. BETTING ON THE SPORTS. SYDNEY, February 24. A movement is afoot to secure an amendment to the Gaming Act legalising betting at athletic, swimming, and cycling meetings. The League of Swimmers, however, has unanimously rejected a motion favouring a, deputation to the Minister in support of the movement.
