The match between New Zealand and South Australia ended to-day in a draw. Play was resumed in fine, but windy, weather. The wicket was excellent. There was an attendance of 1,000, and the receipts for the match exceeded the guarantee. The scoring began at a good rate against Crawford and Willsmore. At 69, Howard relieved the latter. In the next over Tuckwell was missed by Hill at slip, and then was caught at shortstop. He batted steadily. Hickmott was quickly dismissed "by a yorker. Four for 79. Snedden completed his 50 in 85 minutes, and then was very quietly out leg-before. He batted artistically for 100 minutes, and hit three fours. At the luncheon interval the total was 116. On resuming, Reese, with 24 to his credit, was missed at slip. Then Reese hit fiercely, while Taylor was extremely cautious. All the bowling came the same to Reese. He hit one six to long on, the biggest hit in the match. When Reese was 85, Rundell missed a soft return, a.-i when 89 Reese was dropped at ling-on.
