MEETING OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Frank Ovifrton, builder, late of BirkdaJe, but contracting- at Tuuranga, was held at 11 a.m. to-day in the Official Assignee's office. Mr. Fisher, who presided, eaid the debtor had gone away and had been made a bankrupt by a large creditor. Ho therefore had no statement to submit as to the position of the estate, the causes leading up to the bankruptcy, or even the number of creditors. The reason for making the debtor bankrupt wa3 that money was coming to him from the Public Works Department. He had written for that to be held, and received a re-ply that that would be done. He did not know the amount due the debtor. ' Mr. R. Burns said he understood that about £400 was the amount due from the Public Works Department. No liens could be registered against that excepting for wages. He understood that the Public Works Department would not recognise any other liens. The Official Assignee having been appointed interim receiver, the meeting "was adjourned to enable him to get fuller details regarding the estate.
