At last night's annual meeting ot tbe, Tuapeka County Jockey a question was raised as to the duties of, a stipendiary steward. The president (Sir Donald- Munro) replied that he was not supposed to take possession of the whole show, as was the case last year, and if anything' of the kind was again attempted the stipendiary would be politely requested to mind his own business.
