PARIS, December 19.

The cashier of the Paris ofiiee of the "'New York Herald" has disappeared with £5,000 belonging to the paper. He has left a letter explaining that he first took £4,000 to finance a scheme for selling pearls in America. His partner, however, had abandoned the business and gone off with the money. Therefore, the cashier had taken another £1,000, hoping with its help to make the enterprise snocoed.
