The Canterbury League Centre last night decided npon the following itinerary for its approaching Northern tour: —Play Auckland, August 9; Taranaki, at New Plymouth, August 13; Wellington. August 16. The following team has been selected:—Backs: E. Gasson, H. Kelly, C. Coskella, Saunders, M. Smith, F. Matthews, R. Watts. Forwards: C. J. Pearce, A. Morris, H. Shanks, A. E. Shadbolt, T. Kerton, T. Ralton, Kruse. Neither P. Aula nor W. Mitchell, who toured Australia with the last League team, were able to obtain the necessary leaveMr Moyle was elected manager of the team. WELLINGTON'S CHALLENGE. The date fixed for the cup match between Wellington and Auckland was Saturday, August 16. but an alteration has now been made to avoid a clash with the TaranakiAuckland Rugby match for the Ranfurly Shield, which takes place on Saturday fortnight. The Wellington League team will come to Auckland a week later, August 23 being a vac-ant League date. Canterbury play for the Northern Union cup ou August !). and on the way back home will contest a game with Wellington. This will give the latter combination an excellent chance of securing representative practice and of gauging their probable chances against the holders of the cup. EUGBT. GOLDFIELDS V. THAMES.
