DEVONPORT WHARF.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—lt is pleading to notice, that the members of the Harbour Board vewed in a right light the wishes of the large deputation which waited on them in reference to the dredging of a channel to the above whprf. During the summer months many thousands of Attcklanders visit Cheltenham Beach —some 5.000 on public holidays. It is pitiful, to see the families of the working class trudging along this hot beach road to and fro. as they cannot spare the cash for 'bus fares. Weary women folks and tired children, carrying the everlasting kettle and food baskets: and yet all this displeasure can be saved by a channel for steamer boats to this now forsaken wharf.— I am, etc., A PARENT.
