SOUTHLAND MINERAL LEASE.
APPEAL COURT DECISION. (By TWegrapll.— Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Appeal Court dismissed the appeal in Brighton v. McC'lure (Commissioner of Crown Lands for .Southland) . The Court held that all appellant, was entitled to was the freehold of the leasehold interest in the surface soil of t.he land, and that he was not., therefore, entitled to t.he fee-simple of land, including minerals. This aflirms the decision of Sir Joshua Williams. The question of costs was reserved. CoDditional leave was granted for appeal to the Privy Council.
