SOLTAR WORKS CATCH FIRE.
A fire broke out this afternoon at the road material works of Soltar, Ltd., in Freeman's Bay. The tanks were heinar heated to enable t.he tar-composition to be run off in order that repairs might be effected, t.he. tanks having suffered damage during the explosion that occurred la>st week. Evidently there was a fracture in one of the boilers, and the inflammable contents came in contact with the fires. A blaze resulted, but. it was soon extinguished by the Fire Brigade, -which turned out smartly when the alarm was given. Very little damage was done.
