MURDER OF A OFFICER
SYDNEY, Jury 29. The trial was begun to-day of Thomas Edwin Brown, an orchard-keeper, on a charge of murdering Police-Sergeant Hickey, on May 1. at St. I res. Hickey had gone to Browns house to serv« two •warrants, and in a dispute it k a/ileged that Brown fired four &hoU at Hickcv three lodging in the abdomen, with fata! effects.
