SYDNEY, July 21). The New South Waies Assembly to-day discussed Supply. The censure debate will be resumed to-morrow. MURDER OF A POLICE OFFICER SYDNEY, July 29. The trial was begun to-da-i- of Thomas Edwin Brown, an orchard-keeper, on a charge of murdering Police-Sergeant Hickey, on May 1, a t St. Ives. Hickev had gone to Browns house to serve two -warrants, and in a dispute it is alleged that Brown fired four shots at Hickcv three lodging in the abdomen, with fatal effects. Brown, who ha.? figured in many awsuits lately, to-day. backed by many law book? and documents, arreted the whole affair was the outcome of malice because, during lawsuits regarding his property, extending over several Years, he had taken proceeding,, against people • n high positions. l]e atoo wntc J cl _ that the shooting was accidental.
