The secretary of the Trades Federation, addrrs.-ing 1.600 railwayinen at Pretoria to-day, attacked General Smute (Mini.-,;or for Defence) and Colonel Trutcr (head of the police force) for their action during the strike. The speaker stated that (Jpne.ral Smuts wanted them to strike nov.% but the men would choose their owti time and not tell when they were striking the deadly blow.
