GRANTS ALLOCATED. """" TO THE STRICKEN FAMILIES. £35,675 STILL IN RESERVE. (Received 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. The Scott Mansion House committee has allocated £12,403 supplementing tbe Government's provision for the relatives, £1,848 for discharging liabilities of the expedition, and £6.112 for a memorial. The allocation of £35,675 has not been decided upon. Sir Edgar Speyer stated that Commander Evans estimated that Australian contributions totalling at least £0,000 have still to come in. and also the proreeds of the cinematograph films and the sale of the Terra Nova, against which had to be put the cost of publishing the scientific results of tho expedition.
Tho committee had nothing to do with the diari-w. the profits of which belonged to the families of their authors.
