PAPAKtTRA. A meeting of ratepayers convened by the Town Board liually approved the water supply siheuie. At i meeting of the t."nlon, Mr Lynch delivered an Interesting lecture on '•The Analysis of Soils." Mr Lynch was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his address.
On Wednesday evening a welcome was tendered in the Methodist Church to the Rev. William Beckett, late of Woodville. who has recently been appointed to the charge of the Otahuhu circuit. Addresses of welcome were delivered by the cbalrman (Mr (J. D. SuiitTi). Rev. W. i. Wood (Anglican*. Kcv. E. D. McLennan (Presbyterian), Messrs Farnsworth, Hnlknvay, Evans, and Ford. Songß were rendered by Misses Kichurdson and Brody. and a recitation by Miss Olphert. Mr Benney, home missionary, was also present, and was warmly welcomed.
