FIRES AT WHANGAREI.
INHABITANTS BECOMING ALARMED. {By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) *WHAXGAREf, this day. Another disastrous fired occurred in Cameron Street, Whangarei, at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. Mr. P. Naughton's saddlery business was practically destroyed, and the adjoining premises, the "Auckland Star" agency, occupied by Mr. F. Voice, were damaged by fire, and sustained considerable damage to stock •by smoke and water. McCready and lianshaw's tailoring stock was damaged 'by .water. "When aiscovered the fire had a good hold, and fears were entertained for the safety of the Whangarei Hotel. The insurances arc: —Buildings, owned Tjv A. Fralayson, £275 each in the Alliance: buildings occupied by Mr. Naughton and Mr. Voice—Contents: Naugbton £100 in the Victoria; Voice, stock £164 in the Alliance; MeCready and Hanshaw, £100 in the Alliance. The origin of the oubbrcak is a mystery. "'.' '■■■."' This sequence of fires is causing considerable excitement.
