CORRESPONDENCE.
welcomes. itgggHJTo the Editor.) Sir, —I notice Mr. Massey has welcomed the Chapman-Alexander Mission tv Wellington on behalf of the people of J?l'W Zealand. 1 think Mr. Massey. as tin , Premier of this country, is exceeding his duties, and it would be far more tnctful to hold aloof from matters of tlii- kind. Hiu anyone ever seen Mr. -As.'juith putting himself in such a position': There are thousands of Roman Catholics ami thousands of others who have nothing in common with this muchad vert;.-, ed mission. I sincerely trust thai our Mayor will not be so foolish as to extend any welcome. It is outside his province, and these things are best left alone. —I am. etc., OBSERVER.
