A highly successful concert, organised for the purpose of starting a boys' drum and fife band in IluntJy, was held in the Miners' Union llall ou Friday evening. The items rendered by the band were highly appreciated. Others who contributed items were Mesrtames fi. A. James, 11. Stewart, and Miss Gib-b: ac-

compjuiists. Mesdames Darby. Cox, and Miss Horsley, Messrs. l\ Knapper. Norman, (i. E. Morgan, W. Valentine, Master N. Box; while the minstrel troupe, under the direction of Mr. <;. Kdgell, kept the audience greatly amused.
