GALE AND FLOODS.
HEAVY LOSSES IN QUEENSLAND (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A whirlwind at Bathurst tore sheets « iron from the roof of the Oxford Hotel. Fowls were carried up and defeated in adjacent yards. A big flood is reported from the Johnfraie River, Queensland. Seventeen dead | Mrses and two houses were seen floating down the stream. Probably cane and tafcana crops were heavily damaged. The cyclone stripped the roof of the Railway Hotel at Nyngan, tore the posts °<rt of the greater' portion of a large Balcony, the roof of which was deposited ™ the back yard, smashing the back falcony. No further damage to the town « reported. Jle schooner Dancing Wave is missing "°ni Brisbane.
