As it was not 'expected that the divojfce '- cases would be readied titio morning, none of the counsel engaged were in a position to ■proeeeii, and the Court hid to adjourn until this afternoon, owing to lack of any business to go on with. TIME XOT EXPIRED. The first divorce case called on this afternoon, before his Honor, Mr. Justice Edwards, wao that in which Josephine OhapmaJi Briggs applied fox the dissolution of her marriage with Michael Brigge. His Honor held that in calculating *he 42 daye that must elapse since the time of service of the petition, it had been held that the period of the Court vacation could not foe coumted in. He therefore ruled that *he case could not come on, but gramted counsel's application that the case be allowed to stand down until later in the session. ALLEGED MISCONDUCT. Albert Edward Julian, a barman residing in Auckland, for whom Mr. W. E. Haekett appeared, applied for a. divorce from his wife, Sarah Julian, on the ground of misconduct, Frederick McGregor being joined as co-respondent. Julian said he was married in 1901 and lived at Mangatainoko, Inglewood, and Hamilton. They then came to Auckland, and subsequently three years ago he went to Inglewood to start a livery and bait stable. His wife refused to with. -him. and remained with her mother, who kept a boarding house. There was one child of the marriage, a boy, born in 1905. About eighteen months ago witness came to Auckland . His wife admitted that she had been living with the co-respondent. ( Case proceeding.)
