CONSTABLE ASSAULTED.
EEMOVED TO HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. , Constable Doyle, of Shannon, was badly pocked about on Saturday nisrht, and is now in the hospital. It is stated that ■Be. went to put a man out of the sta-bles at the Albion Hotel, when the man "raed on him and fiercely assaulted him. The constable had one leg fractured and ™c eve badly injured. His assailant bolted, and has not yet been arrested.
