ON THE TRACKS AT ELLERSLIE. The work ou the tracks at Ellerslie this morning was of an uninteresting character, the tasks being of the steady order. Masterpiece nnd Brown Owl covered a couple of rounds of the tan, finishing home fast. Goldfinder and Midnigbt Sun. both of which look very well, were given strong half-pace work on the tan. moving freely. A lot of others also exercised. The two-year-old Tatterley did not arrive with the the rest of T. Qnlnian's team on Saturday, being left behind at the last minute on account of a severe cold. W. Whittaker arrived on Saturday evening by the Main Trunk express with the Auckland Cup candidate Goldfinder. T. Butler reached Auckland yesterday by the Tarawera from (iisbornc with Reservoir and Silverlyte. The Hon. J. 1).
