RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKARAnTA DEFENCE CLUB. The members of the Akarana Defence Rifle Club fired at the Penrose range on Saturday for trophies presented by J. .Anderson (A section). W. Thome (B section), and J. G. Ness, the ranges being GOOyds and 700 yds. ten shots. A. Danrell made top score witli 01 points, with A. J. I-etham runner-up with SI points. Danrell (Ai, Spencer (B>. and Comrie (CI registered wins in their ' respective sections. Danrell. Spencer, and Weir take the spoons.
