LIGHT PUNISHMENT.
FRENCHTWOMANS CRIME. (Received 2.50 p.m.) PARIS, November 6. Madame C.'lere, who bribed a man named Parratt to murder her husband, has been sentenced to four vcars' penal servitude. The murder was committed towards the end of .lime, Parratt having bidden in Clere's house for two "ays and shot him as he and his wife were returning from a theatre. The woman subsequently gave Parratt .->OO francs, with which he escaped. He afterwards visited a police station to complain against the statements which were being made against him, and he was arrested.
