LORD DENMAN'S EVICTION.

THE KING INTERESTED. tvt t„, t, HOBART, October 18. Mr J. M. Paxton (the Chamber of Commerce delegate to the London Commerce Convention) has returned. Mr Paxton had an interview with His iVajesty the King, who expressed regret at Lord Denman's eviction from iJovrrnnynt House, Sydney. King George asked Air Paxton the reason for the eviction and where the Governor-General was going to reside, adding, "It is quite clear that he cannot live in an hotel." Mr Paxton stated that the King's manner showed that the matter of the Sydney Government House was very near his heart.
