QUARTERLY MEETING. The only bumness before the ijuarterly meeting of the Pevonport Licensing Committee, this morning was consideration ■>t applications for transfers of licenses relating lo the Ni>rtl)cr»ie and the Mon Desir Hotels. In the former, the transfer from Arthur Whitehead to Reuben 11. A. Oiishman was granted (Afr. Wilson Smith appearing for the applicant). An application for the transfer of the Mon Desir license from Ernest E. Meredith to Dugald Thomson (Mr. Mulgan) was also granted. The only discordant note of meeting was (he hcHlth officer's report (in the sanitation of (he \V;trll' Hotel, which was rloScrilied as primalhe. The owner wrote slating that he was a bout to himself takr I over the ■■mtdurt of the hotel, and that 'immediately the present lease expired. ;he v. ould m.ike t he sanitary arrangements ■comply with the requirements of the Health Department. The Committee I (Messrs. K. C Cutten, S.M., A. Alison. R. TT. Dudpr, and R. Reynolds), instructed j the clerk to inform the owner that bo I long as ho satisfied the Health Department, the Committee would raise no objection respecting sanitation.
