FOOTBALL TEST MATCH.

AUSTRALIA V. NSW ZEALAND. BOTH TEAMS DETERMINED. All is -ready for the first test match to be played on New Zealand coil under Northern Union rules between Australian and >"ew Zealand teams. The former returned last evening from Botorua, and tihis morning took their final rune in practice at Victoria Park. The representative men, upon whom will fall the responsibility of defending the "All Black" colours, have been in training at Mflford Beach since Tuesday last. and they will come direct from there to the 'Domain in time for to-morrow's big match. Both teams are confident of success, end the game will doubtless be fought to a determined finish. The 'Mil ford Beach camp—really comfortsible botarding-bousc quarters—was visited by a "Star" man yesterday afternoon. It -was just after lunch. Half of the men were discovered at cricket on the lawn, •while the remainder were recreating. All were as hale and hearty as even tho enthusiastic eoadh (Mr. Geo. Gillett) could wish. They had 'been having gome invigorating exercise on the beach during the morning, both before and after breakfast, while a few had indulged in an early morning dip. During the afternoon the fourteen wore taken to the practice paddock* for their final work -with the ball. The fifteenth man, Hardgiave, has been unable to leave his -work to go into camp, bat he has been training in Auckland. Aβ fullibock it was not so important that he should be there for combination practice. The forwards did very solid work.
