UALF-TEARLr MEETING. The half-yearly .meeting of the ILA.C.B. Society wa« held iv the Hibernian Hall last evening. Bro. J. M. Foy (president) occupied the chair. The other executive officers present were:—Bro. D. Klynn, D.V.l'.j Bro. W. Kane, D.S.; Bro. M. .1. Sheahan, D. Treasurer; and Bro. Right Rev. Father Holbrook. The following branches were represented:— Greymouth, Charleston, ' Graliamstown, Duncdhi, Auckland, ChrlstchuTch, Onehuuga, Napier, Wellington, Blenheim, New mouth, Walpawa, Hastings, Lienton, .New ' Headford, Tlmaru, Masterton, Milton, Oamarti, Walmate, Denulston, Westport, Gisborne, Reefton, Wellington South, I'almerston North, Aahburton, Waihi, Kaiapoi, Lower ilutt, Hawero, Taihape, Manala, lnvercargill. Gore, Otautau, GeraWlnc, Thorndon, Carterton, I'etone, Opunake, Meanee, Chalmers, luglewood, Wanganul, Levin. Sister branches: Auckland and Wellington. Particulars of the funeral fuinl showed a credit balance on July SI of £U,607 6/2; expenditure in tleath claims during the last six monthM was £270; Interest on loans ■received £200 1(5/10; profit made In the six months, £453; amount loaned on mortgage, £9,935. General fund showed a balance of £030 12/10; profit for the term, £103 10/2; loaned ou mortgage, £327 13/10, and £500 from the guarantee fund. The D.S. moved a series of resolutions having for their object the raising of the contributions of new branches formed since January Ist, 1012. The Increases embodied all- members joining the new branches between the ages of 1(1 years and 42 years, ranging from .7d per week up to 1/2 per -peek. After a lengthy discussion and replies to queries from several of the delegates by the mover, the new proposals were carried. Father Holbrook. representing the Auckland branch, moved a resolution suggesting the advisability of establishing, with the sanction of the lHerarchy. bnmchps of the | Catholic Federation. The objects of the Federation are: (1) The mutual adi-ancemenf of Catholic societies; (2) the dissemination of Catholic literature; (3) the safeguarding of Catholic education: (4) .the expression of Catholic opinion ou social and public questions affecting Catholic interests. Farther Holbrook briefly explained the objects of the Federation. The District Treasurer seconded the inotiou. which was carried unanimously. Presentations were made by the District President to Bros. P. .7. Xe'rhenv and C. Mulholland, P.D.P.'s, of a line gold Celtic cross and a Vast President's collar respectively. Both brothers suitably returned thanks. Wellington delegates gave notice of motion. "That it is desirable that the executive should be removed to tbe cftv of Wellington.' 'and further, "In the interest of the solidity of the society it is advisable that provision be made for annual meetings to be held in Wellington, In lieu of triennial movable meetings, as now by law provided." The following motion was passed by Bro. I>. Flynn: "We learn with great Pleasure that the directors of the 'N 'A «w£i at -'' have de-irled to reduce its price from the Ist October next."
