Captain E. B. Atwood has arrived in Auckland from Wellington and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Our Waihi correspondent telegraphs that. Dr Cro3sley (Bishop of Auckland) has returned from Wellington. At St. Mary's to-morrow afternoon he will hold a confirmation, service and in the evening will preach at St. Alban's. Mr B. Daidge, of the Auckland branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been transferred to the Levuka. branch, Fiji, and leaves by the s.s. Ha-nroto on Wednesday next. Mr A. E. H. Harrison, who has been appointed chief administrative clerk in the City Engineer's Department, has for the past •fourteen years been employed in the Auckland District Traffic Manager's office. Mr. >F. Mander (member for Marsden) was, entertained at a complimentary social gathering in the Theatre Royal last night, Mr. W. A. Carruth presiding. A number of ladies were among those present.
