CODEBY EXPLOSION.
I EIGHTY-ONE DEATHS. RELIEF OF THE WIDOWED. LONDON. July 11. The total number of deaths resulting from the explosions in the Codeby colliery at Conisborough (Yorkshire) is now stated as 81. The Hueton Colliery Disaster Fund Committee has contributed lOOOgns to the sufferers from the Codeby disaster. AN AMERICAN EXPLOSION. EIGHT MINERS KILLED. (Received 12.25 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 11. At Moundsvill'e, West Virginia, eight miners are believed to be dead as the result, of a gas explosion in the Franklin Coal Company's mine. Rescue parties are exploring the mine, but little hope is held out.
