MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Watchman. —In No. 1 rise. Intermediate level north, the reef looks well, and a few colours of gold are seen. At the TOft level a clay break disturbed the reef, which, however, now appears to be making again. What appears to be the footwall of a strong body of quartz has been exposed. At the ."Oft crosscut the break has been passed, and Lhe reef is making its proper course again. One lib measures about 12ln In width, and •-the,. small ones are striking out to what may prove to be the main portion. In No. 3 rise, the reef baa been exDosed, ready for breaking down.

Talisman Consolidated.The report for tie fortnight ending May 18th. 1912. suites: ■ —No. 9 crosscut has been advanced a total of 285 feet. The ground shows no change. The values from stopes off No. 12 winze average £4 19/7. No. 13 level: South drive — The crosscut "west from the face of the main drive has been extended a total of 21 feet. At 15 feet a seam of quartz was cut three feet wide: values from the same average £7 6/6. This new run of ore is evidently the continuation of a seam of quartz that went into the hanglngwall from the main drive, 20 feet north of the face. This seam lias now been driven on from the point where it left the main reef through to the west crosscut. Distance, 10 feet; width of vein. 0 inches; values average 4/9. Will now drive on reef south of cross-cut, and the progress will be added 'to the main drive total footage. No. 11 winze—Sank IS feet; total, 911 feet; reef ■wider than winze: values average O-Ti. No. 3 crosscut The north drive has been advanced 7 feet: total. 103 feet: width of reef, 24 inches: values low: discontinued. Stoping—The values from stopes oir No. 12 rise average £4 7/9; from stopes off No. 15 rise. £1 14/6; and from stapes off No. 10 rise, £7 «/, Tons sent to the mill. 25.1. No. 14 level: No. 12 winze The north drive has been advanced 20 feet; total, 124 feet: width of reef, 18 inches; values average £4 2/1. The south drive off No. 12 winze has been extended 14 feet: total. 124 feet; width of reef, 48 inches: values average £1 6/ Stoping The values from leading stope north and south of No. 0 winze average £4 3/8. The values from leading stope south of No. 8 rise average £8 12/5." Woodstock shaft This has been sunk 6 feet; total 334 feet; no change In country. Mountain King.— good-sized body of ore from two to four feet wide was cut In the north end of the low level. This is probably the Mountain King lode, which was thrown sever:.! feet t'i th« footwall side by coming into contact with a clay head. Goal is seen in the ore broken out. No stoping has been done in the main level •overhead, and directly over this point Is the place where nearly all the gold was got previously. Monowai.—For the week ending July 4th, 84 tons of ore were crushed, the value being £1 5/0 per tou: also 1,8 tons, value £4 5/8 per ton, making a total of 102 tons of an average value of £1 10/ per ton in gold and silver. The IS tons is what is supposed to he a new reef. As the surveyor lias not been down yet, the start has not yet been made with the connection from the surface with No. 3 level. Waitangi Consolidated.—The main drive is lv 3507 feet. The reef in about four feet In width. The footwall portion is about 12 inches wide, and the ore is a mixed formation of quartz stringers and country. The rise on the hangingwall of the reef is up IGB feet, and a start has been made to open out at a point 25 feet below the bottom of the winze to put a crosscut through the lode to ascertain its width aud value. Rising Pun.The low level tunnel is In 2.031 ft. The country continues of a favourable description, and is good blasting ground. The contractors will complete early next week, and fresh tenders will be called for extending the tunnel a further 100 ft.
