THE ONE-CHAMBER MOTION. LONDOX, June, 20. Thfi House of Commons, by 28S votes to 199, has refused to agree to an amendment to the Home Rule Bill to establish a single chamber Government in Ireland. The Opposition supported the amendment on the ground that the proposed Senate will be only a. sham safeguard, and that if only local Government is conceded a second chamber 'will not be required.

LENGTH OF THE SESSION.

(Received 10.50 a.m.) LONDON June 20. Xlie "Daily News" says that the Government intends that Parliament shall rise from August 10 to October 10, and sit, if necessary, into 1010, to pass the Home Rule, Disestablishment and Franchise Bills.
