NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT.
On Friday, 7th June, I had a good, entry of cattle in my WiaEikabo Yards, a big proportion being Jersey yearling and twoyear belters. The demand for these was very good, prices obtained being:—Jersey yearling heifers, up to £3 3/ for best, others £2 1/ to £2 8/; grades, £1 4/6 to £1 10/; yearling steers, good £1 to £1 12/; yearling mixed aud poor quality, 13/6 to £1 8/6; 20----inouxh empty belters, jerseys £4 5/, Uradcs £3 -to £3 10/; 2t>-months steers, good £3 0/6, poor £2 1/ to £2 ,16/; 2*-ycar in calf heifers, small, £4 18/; 2-year in calf heifers, J-cyseys, nice line, but backward, £5 13/6; springing cows, £7 to £7 15/; cows, spring culvers, aged, £3 0/6 to £4 10/; springing 3yeur Jersey heifers, £10: store cows, £2 to ■£3 6/; forward cows, £3 15/ to £4 17/; fat heifers.
At Urenni on Monday. 10th inst.. there was only a small yaraing, with a. slack inquiry for everything, except yearlings. yearling heifers realised £3 .">/: good steers, £1 15/ to £2 1/; poor and badcoloured, £1; mixed, £1 5/6: empty ISmonths heifers, £3 3/6 to £3 14/; 3-year hutlocks, £5; store cows. £2 6/ to £3 7 : forward <-ows, £4 to £4 0': dairy cows, £4 10/ .to £7; in calf JS-year heifers. £7: bulls, £3 I,'; -hoggets, good line. 10/6.
•On the same day at Toko I had only a fair yarding, realising: Yearling heifers, £1 6/ to £2 6/6; steers, 17/ to £2; mixed. £1 1/6; empty heifers, £3 3/: store cows, £2 14/ to £3 13/; fat cows, £5 4/: dairy cows, £10 7/6; 2-year steers, £3 10/6; hoggets, 10/: f.in. ewes, in lamb, 0/11; empty owes, 3/7 to 4/11.
For my fortnightly sale in my Stratford yards on Tnesday, 11th, I had a fair entry and a good attendance of buyers. The demand throughout was very even for all lines, an absolute clearance being made duTing the day. (iood store cows and yearlings met <with keen competition. Best yearling steers from £1 13/6 to £1 17/U, small £1 1/, bad coloured 11/, good mixed £2 4/; best yearling heifers. £2 2/6 to £3 3/. good £1 11/ to £1 19/, small £1 6/6. empty 20 months heifers £3 to £3 9/6; bnlls, £2 5/ to £3 10/; in-calf heifers. £4 16/: J cows in calf, £3 17/6: aged cows in calf, guaranteed, £3 2/6 to £3 12/6; empty cows, stores £2 9/ to £3 5/. fresh conditioned £3 11/ to £3 18/: boners, £1 to £1 15/: fat cows, £5 17/6; hoggets, 8/4; fat bullocks, £7 13/.
•Iv my Stratford dairy yards on the same day I had a clearing sale on account of Mr John Fabish, Ratapiko. Bidding was very good. Best quality cows realised from £S to £1 15/: second grade. £3 10/ to £7; others, poor or aged. £3 2/6 to £4 10/; on account of other vendors. £5 to £7 10/; incalf heifers, £U 2/6.
On Wednesday, l'it'h. I had a good attendance at Mr V. Miller's clearing sale on the York-road. Prices realised throughout were very satisfactory, averaging £0. Good dairy cows realised from £S 10/ to £12 10/: second grade. £5 to £7 10/: empty cows £3 15/ to £4 17/R: in-calf heifers. £6 17/0 to £0: mare. £10 15/.
My Stony Kiver sale on Wednesday was very well attended, but. only a fair yarding of stock, which met with good competition, realising as follows:—Yearling heifers. £1 4/G to £1 18/6: stpcrs. £1 S ' to £1 17/6: empty 20 months heifers. £3 5/ to £3 15/(1- 20 months ia-calf heifers, £3 15/ to £4 7/: store cows. £2 10/ to £3 2/6; forward cows, £4 3/6 to £4 4/; fat cows. £5 7/6.
