TAFT STILL WINNING.
A ROOSEVELT THREAT. WIU SPLIT THE VOTE. » NEW YOKE, June 13. Mi. Taft has so far secured 128 of the contested votes , at the Republican National Convention at Chicago. Mr. Roosevelt's supporters are indulging in violent recriminations against the National' Committee. One of them caused an unprecedented sensation by declaring that if Mr. Tait were nominated, it was possible that Mr. Roosevelfs supporters would divide the Republican vote in the National College, and thus throw the selection to the ! Democrats. Mr. Roosevelt, in a speech at Oyster Bay, said that he intended to submit an unequivocal declaration in favour of women's suffrage to the Chicago Convention. A " CAMPAIGN LIE." BRIBERY ALLEGES. Rodsey.elt's manager replies that :the story is a pure invention and a campaign lie. • A QZTABHEL WITH CONGRESS. MAY HOLD UP ARMY'S PAY. (Received 12.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, June 13. President Taft is quarrelling -with Congress. The Senate abolished the Commerce Court, Taffc's pet scheme, and held over the Army Appropriation Bill. President Taft holds that such action of Congress unconstitutional, and will probably veto the Army Appropriation Bill, which contains the clause abolishing the Commerce Cour;fc. If the bill be vetoed the pay of all officers and men in the United States army will be withheld indefinitely.
