■ -.- - > The following teltegram has been sent by General Godley to the secretary of the Legion of Frontiersmen at Auckland: "In reply to your telegram I shall be very glad to give every consideration to your movement provided it is incorporate and identified with our recognised second line of defence, viz., the rifle clubs. I thinkthat multiplication of further and separate military organisations is to be deprecated."
